Revealed Truth Without Beginning or End

The Vedas are eternal truths, revealed by the Divine to the great Rishis of ancient India. A Rishi (from dris, “to see”) is a seer of Mantra, one who perceives truth—not its creator. The Rishis did not invent the Vedas; they only discovered and transmitted the knowledge that already existed.

Thus, the Vedas are called Śruti—“that which is heard.” They embody the spiritual experiences and revelations of the Rishis, who acted as channels of divine knowledge. Unlike other religions that depend on messengers or prophets, the Vedas stand as their own authority, eternal and self-existent, being the very breath of the Supreme.

Lord Brahma imparted this wisdom to the Rishis, who spread it to humanity. The Vedic sages were realized souls, directly perceiving Brahman, the ultimate Truth. From their vision arose a simple yet profound system of religion and philosophy, inspiring all later traditions.

The Vedas are the oldest spiritual records of humankind—the fountainhead from which all religions ultimately draw. They are not human compositions, nor creations in time. They are eternal, impersonal, and indestructible. Books may perish, but the knowledge of the Vedas remains, for true knowledge is eternal.
